Deepeeka Viking Swords

This 11th Century Viking sword has an unsharpened blade crafted from EN45 high carbon steel. The crossguard and pommel are of mild steel and the wooden grip is wrapped in brown leather.

This Viking warrior’s sword is based on an existing original sword in the Musee de l’Armee in Paris. Mid 10th to mid 11th century, the sword blade bears the famed Ulfberht and “DUNA+DUNA XX” – markings.

Viking swords of this style, featuring a distinct, simple, and prominent hilt seem to have been in fashion from the late 8th to the late 10th Century. The wide blades with wide fullers had only a moderate taper, ensuring that these beefy blades hit with considerable force on the unlucky foe.

Like the original Viking sword this reproduction is based upon, it has an ornate hilt of bronze and a blade of high carbon steel. The pommel is a two-part construction with the cap fitted onto the blade tang and secured with two rivets. Inlaid copper wire completes the pommel.
