Battle Blades

The BattleBlades katana features a unique design with a skull-themed tsuba and skeletal fuchi and kashira components crafted from antiqued metal. The blade is made using traditional techniques, with panels of folded steel laminated together to create a composite blade construction. The blade is made from several components of 1095 steel, which are folded to remove impurities, and then forge-welded together to create a laminated blade with a hard steel edge. The blade has been differentially-tempered with clay to further harden the blade edge, resulting in a hardness of 59-60 HRc on the edge and 40-45 HRc on the spine and body of the blade.

24.5" (62.23cm) overall. 19" (48.26cm) T10 High-Speed Tool Steel blade. Hand forged differentially hardened blade. Shinogi line with extra long kissaki are completed with frantic real clay tempered hamon. Black samegava rayskin wrapped hardwood tsuka embellished with custom made silver menukis on both side of the handle and fitted copper habaki. Black wood scabbard. Boxed.

BattleBlades - Gukudo Shoto

29.5" (74.93cm) closed. 20" hand forged and mirror-polished T10 high carbon steel blade features a 9.8" kissaki, Hiro-suguha style clay-tempered hamon and a dragon horimono figure. A wide bo-hi on both sides of the blade. A solid hardwood shirasaya-aikuchi style tsuka is fully wrapped with black samegawa rayskin. Custom-made copper habaki features hand engraved japanese kanji letters that stand for BattleBlades. Hand finished fitted fuchi and kashira are made from blackened iron.
